Sectoral
working groups
The main processes of
technical co-ordination occur through a series
of technical working groups which are headed
either by a UN agency or a government institution.
These groups encompass all of the key participants
(UN, NGOs and government) in humanitarian delivery
and recovery strategies. The main working groups
are described in the following table below.
The essential groups are in food aid, nutrition,
HIV, health, agriculture, education, refugees
and child protection. Some have their own sub-groups.
A major aspect of the working groups is the
monitoring of changes and trends in the country
as well as program developments and their impact.
