Knowing which organisations (WHO) are carrying out which activities (WHAT) in which locations (WHERE) is essential if those organisations and activities are to be coordinated in a way that ensures that humanitarian needs are met.
SAHIMS is supporting the process of establishing a "Who does What Where" national reporting to help deliver a regular and accurate mapping of humanitarian activities in the southern African region.
Some data gaps should be expected in early results and from country teams.
However, data quality will gradually improve with the involvement of more organisations as well as the promotion of national capacity to synthesise the information into effective report for decision makers and donors. The Who does What Where is an invaluable tool for national coordination as regular reporting allows the close follow up of requirements for support and partnerships. |
