IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Zimbabwe UN Relief and Recovery Unit Maps
The UN Relief and Recovery Unit (RRU) was
established by UNDP in October 2001, in order to
assist in the co-ordination of the international
response to a worsening food security and
humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe. The website aims to
improve the focus and impact of assistance in
supporting the most vulnerable people in Zimbabwe,
through greater joint engagement by all
stakeholders, and particularly the GoZ, in capacity
building for the appropriate public institutions,
resource mobilisation, planning and delivery.
The Relief and Recovery Unit (RRU) provide mapping
services open to all humanitarian organisations in
Zimbabwe. The maps are organised into three
categories namely: Analysis Maps, Who What Where
Maps and General Maps. The maps produced by the GIS
Unit are based on data provided by humanitarian
organisations operating in Zimbabwe.
