Geo Information to Help Fight Poverty in Africa, AfricaGIS, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 17 - 21 September 2007
AfricaGIS is the largest event focusing on geographic information in Africa. This year’s event AfricaGIS 2007, themed ‘Geo information and the fight against poverty in Africa’, will be held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The objective of AFRICAGIS is to provide a platform for both African and International professionals from the geo information field, allowing them to interact, exchange information, and work together to improve present applications of GIS technology and develop more advanced techniques suited to the African needs.

AfricaGIS 2007 aims to provide an open forum where delegates can exchange ideas and share knowledge.
It will also provide a platform for industries to present their new products and for consultancy firms, service providers, state agencies and academic institutions to offer their services. Participants will be able to familiarise themselves with the latest developments in geographic information alongside prominent scientists’ ‘research in action’ workshops and learn new techniques during training sessions.
