challenges facing societies in southern Africa. SAHIMS GIS Data server
offers easily accessible standardised data provided by various United Nations,
non-governmental organisations and government agencies. Datasets in this catalogue
are downloadable without any charge. It can be viewed and manipulated by using
most popular GIS software. Metadata is attached to help the user have a
better understanding of data sources, applications and copyright. |

Disaster
Response Data to Assist Mapping Flood Affected Areas
in Mozambique
In response to the severe flooding in Mozambique,
SAHIMS has published various data available from our
partner organizations. In support to disaster
response SAHIMS datasets are accessible to all
humanitarian partners in order to enhance effective
planning and monitoring.
The datasets regarding accommodation centres was
collected in the field by OCHA, in partnership with
the INGC. Complimentary baseline data was provided
by Mozambique WFP Mapping Unit, an initiative of UN
OCHA and WFP in Mozambique. The data is downloadable
in shapefile format.
